James (Jim) W. Clayton

Jim Clayton has been a resident of Carlow Mayo since moving his family here from Dundas, Ontario in 1972.

He worked as an Instructional Media Technician for the Hastings County Board of Education, then served nine years as Manager of radio station CJNH in Bancroft.

In 1986, Jim accepted the position of Sales and marketing Manager for Combiboard and worked for three years in Mississauga while maintaining his home here in Carlow Mayo.

Returning to full time residency in 1990, Jim operated his own window, door and siding business and for the last nine years has represented Lawson Products as an Independent Sales Agent.

An avid supporter of the Municipality of Carlow Mayo, Jim is active on the Recreation Committee and the Little Mississippi Senior’s Club in Mayo Ward. Currently serving on a committee to expand economic development services in the North Hastings area, Jim is presently serving his second term on municipal council, first with the former Municipality of the township of Mayo from 1997 to 2000 and presently with the Municipality of the Township of Carlow Mayo, elected in 2003.

Jim is married to his wife Ellen-Louise (Dolly) and they have two grown children and two grandchildren.
